FET Bursaries

Are you thinking of furthering your education but don’t have the finances for it? Don’t worry, FET Bursaries are here to make it easier for you. Here you will find out what you will need to apply for a bursary and how to apply for a bursary.

How do you Apply for an FET Bursary?

In order to apply for a FET bursary, you will need to submit certain documents, and provide motivations for why you should receive the bursary.

Each bursary provider will have different requirements on which they rate student’s eligibility, so it is important to double-check special requirements with the institution.

Documents Needed to Apply for FET Bursaries:

  • Their ID
  • Proof of residence
  • Bank statements of the last 3 months (this may vary among different providers)
  • Proof of income (payslips)
  • Proof that you have registered and have been accepted into a college

The financial documents will prove that students are in fact in need of financial aid, while further documents, such as academic records from school, will prove that the student will excel in the programme. Usually, the students with the best academic record along with the greatest need for funding are awarded a bursary.

In cases where bursaries are awarded on the condition that the student works for the company after receiving their qualification, students will need to confirm in writing that they will be able to fulfill this agreement.
